I Hate palm trees

I live in a place where a lot of people plant these trees, and they just don't go with the oaks and pines, but while landscaping the backyard, I just had to have one. I'm going to hopefully keep it small by keeping it pruned and in a pot, but if it dies, it was a $25 experiment. I actually like the tree on its own, I just don't like to see 100 ft palm trees towering over the native trees, they stick out like sore thumbs.
